OK, it's not headline real-estate, but by far the most useful new thing I've learned today. Whenever I open a banana, I pull the stem back. If I don't have a knife to make a horizontal incision at the base of the stem, the top gets squished, the split happens below the stem, and you have to pry the opening big enough to get the banana out. It RARELY opens as it would if I were a tv star in a commercial, you know. : )

Thank you, monkeyboy, wherever you are, for this helpful tip!

HA! I didn't look at the video. Hate video.
However, this is a very important matter.
If the banana doesn't easily peel from the top of the stem the banana is not sufficiently ripe to be ready to eat.
There.
I tried to look at the video and it was only a tiny jpeg. But I like my nanners a little on the green side, but I'll just keep using a knife I guess.
OK, the video link was tiny. I'll tell you what he did: instead of peeling by the stem, he pinched the bottom of the banana, and pushed the banana UP (stem side down, upwards). The thing just naturally split! I'll have to try to reload it. It's somewhere out there on You Tube, I'm sure! Slow day: actual clients just walked in through the door, and it totally threw me off! It's been so quiet, it took me a minute to gather my mind up off the bananas. : ) We looked at homes online, and it turns out they had walked in another day and looked with my friend/coworker. I don't get the client, but did get a little more experience. Probably better to spend time with prospects than looking up banana videos. Ha!
OK - you got me curious - I will rememeber this and try it next time. Thanks. Love videos.
I feel like swinging from a vine now... Thanks!
