In other Richardson ISD news, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) recently released its district realignments for football and basketball.

Realignment is done every two years to accomodate changing student population numbers and the addition of new high schools.

Pearce will stay in the 4-A Division and will play in the 10-4A District with Highland Park, McKinney, McKinney North, Rockwall, Rockwall Heath, Wylie, and Wylie East. Leaving this district from last year are Greenville, Royce City, Forney, Newman Smith, and R L Turner. Richardson, Lake Highlands, and Berkner will remain in the 5-A Division, 9-5A District, with Dallas Jesuit, Dallas Samuell, Dallas Skyline, Dallas Sunset, and Dallas W T White. Leaving this district from last year are CFB Creekview and Dallas Molina.

“We’re happy with the realignments,” commented Bob Dubey, RISD Director of Athletics. “We have a great relationship with all of these schools and look forward to continuing these positive relationships.” Realignment information for other sports will be released later this spring.

Things have seemed busy around the office these last several weeks. The end of November had brought with it a lull: a market-pause, if you will, of people waiting to hear news of an extended tax credit. December came and went, ushering in a new January, and the new and improved tax credit which included existing homeowners. The phones have not stopped ringing. The open houses are bringing a flurry of interest (and some contracts being written in the living rooms). Our keen buyers have been paying attention to the news, and they know this window of opportunity is golden and not forever...

Our Founder and Chairman of the Board has received almost every possible honor there is. But today, Ebby adds a new and unique honor to her resume, her own elementary school.

DISD will break ground on Ebby Halliday Elementary at 10:30 am.

Friday, the district will break ground for the new George Herbert Walker Bush Elementary School in Addison.

I get fussed at, sometimes, for not being on top of keeping our relatives stocked with recent jpegs to upload into their digital photo frames. A few years ago, when those frames were the hottest toy on the store shelves when December rolled around and adults needed to buy gifts for each other, we all lined up for them. I have one that we never were able to figure out, collecting dust somewhere. My dad wanted one to keep at a vacation home, and I'm painfully bad about remembering to send updated shots. Now, I have a new hot toy to figure out: FrameChannel. It will update dad's photo frame (once set up) from cyberspace!

FrameChannel is a free service that allows you to share your photos with your friends and family by streaming content directly to their digital picture frames (they don't have to do a thing).

DALLAS, TX (KERA) -If you've been thinking of replacing a major appliance, you may want to hold off until April if possible. The state comptroller's office will use more than 23-million dollars in federal stimulus money as rebates for purchases of energy-star rated appliances between April 16 and the 25th. Sam Baker talked with R.J. DeSylva, a spokesperson for the Texas Comptroller, about the program in this KERA Economy segment.
